Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight On the ripened grain. I am the gentle Autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there. I did not die. My Spirit is still alive… Hopi Prayer

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest William Gordon Booth III who was born in United States St. Louis, MO on April 1, 1941 and passed away on June 14, 2007. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Obituary:

William Gordon Booth III, 66, of Alpharetta, died June 14, 2007. Mr. Booth graduated Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University in 1963 with a BE in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Philosophy.  He was also a member of the Chi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order.

He resumed his studies at Harvard Business School and graduated with Distinction in 1965 with a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Manufacturing, Operations Research and Statistics.

Mr. Booth was a Corporate Fellow at University of Texas Graduate School of Business, Austin, Texas where he researched database strategy/structure in decentralized corporate environments and taught graduate-level IT seminars.

He was the account manager and principal architect for the L’eggs Products, Inc, project where he developed a comprehensive PERT/CPM diagram encompassing all activities pursuant to the L’eggs startup and rollout: marketing, sales and distribution, manufacturing, administration, finance, and systems.  He conceived and programmed a mathematical model using base-3 arithmetic that evaluated more than 1M alternative test market rollout strategies to find minimum cost with maximum benefit. He also assembled and led a team of 10 analysts/programmers that from scratch in nine months conceived, designed, developed, and implemented the  Administrative/Financial, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales and Distribution enterprise systems for L’eggs, a startup that in two years became the industry-leading retail merchandiser of ladies pantyhose.

The story of the L’eggs pantyhose startup and rapid dominance of its industry became the subject of a Harvard Business School Case Study.

Mr. Booth is survived by his sister Marjorie, his daughters Nicole, Heidi, Heather, Brienne, and sons Devereaux, William IV, Lance, and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, June 30th at 4 o'clock at North Springs United Methodist Church in Sandy Springs, GA.

Nikki God's Garden August 19, 2009

God looked around His garden
and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this
earth, and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids,
and whispered, “Peace be thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you but
you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you
the day God called you home.

To each and every one of you I want you to know how much I feel your loss; please know that to Bill, there was nothing more precious in all of life than his family.  He loved each of you so very much.  You are very lucky to have such a wonderful father; he is truly blessed with a beautiful family- after all, in the end, a loving family that carries on his values, his heart, his soul, is the greatest legacy a man leaves behind.   Thank you for loving Bill as your father, and allowing me to share in your family.
